Hello Waterfront is an experimental 2D animation created for the Lujiazui × Swire Properties joint brand art exhibition, City Anchor, at the 80,000 Tons Silo Art Center. Drawing inspiration from the Silo’s industrial heritage and Shanghai’s riverside evolution, the film follows a protagonist who steps onto the waterfront and enters a series of surreal encounters. Through this narrative journey, the animation traces the transformation of Pudong, from historic port and industrial hub to a symbol of contemporary urban imagination. Blending brand storytelling with site-specific cultural context, the work reflects the exhibition’s core themes of origin, growth, dialogue, and future vision, echoing the Silo as a spiritual anchor connecting past and future, individual and city, heritage and innovation.
