Tape
Tape

Over many years, my research into and use of tape grew into an obsession, even a kind of madness. I restaged it on stage, tore at it in daily life, and found myself stuck to it in the depths of thought. There was nowhere I did not resonate and co-exist with it.
In this kind of magical realm, everything I do is destined to become the absurdity within absurdity, and ultimately to slide into futility and embarrassment.
As major national events unfold one after another, I am swept into all kinds of extreme actions. There, I finally use my own body to reconstruct “reality” and reach an artistic state where it merges seamlessly with the “surreal”.
But in the end, I become a single photograph, pressed by the forces of society onto a job application form, forced to run as a tiny component within the vast social machine.
