Inspired by the video game Ghost of Tsushima. Drawing on its narrative intensity and East Asian aesthetic, it uses 3D modeling and virtual environment construction to reimagine a key early moment in the game: the instant when the protagonist witnesses their home village under attack and consumed by flames.
All models and assets in the scene were created independently by the artist, including architecture, terrain, vegetation, props, and environmental elements, from modeling to material design. The primary focus of the piece is emotional atmosphere, using light, color, and particle effects to convey the desolation and grief that follow catastrophe.
Visually, the environment stages a contrast between a cold blue sky and the warm light of fire. Lightning and smoke intertwine, symbolizing the protagonist’s inner rupture and turmoil. Details such as burning houses and flickering lanterns intensify the emotional impact of a homeland in ruins.
The work is not only a reinterpretation of the original narrative atmosphere, it is also an experiment in digital environmental storytelling. Through the spatial reconstruction of entirely self made assets, the piece invites viewers to experience the entanglement of history, emotion, and memory within virtual light and shadow.
