These high-rises that will never be completed are called lanweilou in China – “rotten-tail buildings,” abandoned halfway through construction. The Lingyun Flame-ers (凌云焰ers) call them “Eden.”

But this is not that Eden:
there are no flowers, no paradise,
only concrete that is cold, rigid, and unbearably ugly.

Late at night, it is only me in front of the computer,
editing and carefully analyzing, frame by frame.
It gradually becomes a questioning of the legend,
a deconstruction of the canonical concept of “Eden.”
