A garden is never a finished image.

It grows through contact: between cultivated and unplanned life, enclosure and exposure, care and neglect, private attention and public use. It carries what has been planted, what has arrived without invitation, and what remains after an encounter has ended.

Entangled Garden begins from this condition.

For the 2026 New York Experimental Arts Festival, ELSEHERE brings performance, moving image, installation, sound, and hybrid practice into Le Petit Versailles—not as works placed inside a decorative setting, but as practices entering a living and socially specific site.

The festival asks what changes when a work must negotiate weather, duration, movement, vegetation, neighboring architecture, and the presence of an audience at close range. It considers how artistic forms gather people, alter attention, and make relationships visible.

Some works may appear briefly. Others may accumulate across several days. Images may fall across leaves and walls; sound may travel beyond its intended boundary; a performance may be altered by light, temperature, or an unexpected public.

These are not interruptions to the festival. They are part of its form.

Entangled Garden approaches exhibition and performance as conditions of relation—between artist and site, work and witness, temporary action and longer public memory.
