ELSEHERE ARTIST DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

Artist Development & Representation

Professional support for artists building long-term visibility, project records, publication presence, and international career infrastructure.

ELSEHERE works with selected artists to develop the professional, public, and institutional structure around their practice. We support artists whose work moves across performance, moving image, installation, sound, writing, research-based practice, and experimental forms.

Our work is not limited to editing materials or preparing a single application. We help artists clarify how their practice is positioned, documented, published, represented, and circulated across exhibitions, festivals, residencies, grants, public programs, publications, and international opportunities.

This program is for artists who are building a serious body of work and need a stronger system around it.

Positioning the Practice

A strong artistic practice needs more than visibility. It needs language, structure, documentation, and a public record that can carry the work across different contexts.

ELSEHERE works with artists to clarify the intellectual, artistic, and professional frame of their practice. We help shape how the work is understood by curators, editors, institutions, collaborators, audiences, and international partners.

This may include artist positioning, project representation, publication support, CV and portfolio development, artist statements, bios, interviews, press materials, website profile language, and strategic documentation.

Our aim is not to simplify the work, but to give it a structure strong enough to travel.

What We Build

Narrative

We clarify the core narrative of the artist’s practice: what the work does, where it comes from, what questions it carries, and why it matters now.

Documentation

We help artists organize credible, accurate, and usable records of their work, including CVs, project histories, images, captions, links, press, publications, and professional materials.

Publication

We develop materials that support public visibility, editorial presence, interview features, artist profiles, critical writing, and publication-oriented opportunities.

Visibility

We strengthen how an artist’s practice appears across websites, portfolios, applications, public programs, publications, and institutional communication.

Representation

We may represent selected projects through professional communication, project materials, letters, publication records, and institutional coordination connected to real artistic work.

International Readiness

We support artists preparing for cross-border opportunities, residencies, festivals, grants, academic pathways, institutional engagement, and long-term international visibility.

Core Areas of Support

01 Artist Positioning

We help artists define and articulate the language around their practice with clarity, depth, and precision.

This may include artist statements, bios, practice overviews, project descriptions, portfolio structure, and the broader narrative that connects separate works into a coherent artistic trajectory.

02 Professional Documentation

We build the essential materials that support an artist’s career across different contexts.

This may include CV development, portfolio organization, project documentation, exhibition and performance records, publication records, image captions, press materials, and professional dossiers.

03 Publication & Public Record

Publication is one of the ways artistic practice becomes legible beyond the immediate event.

Through ELSEHERE’s editorial ecosystem, selected artists may develop interviews, artist profiles, critical features, practice texts, or publication-oriented materials that create a stronger public record around their work.

This support is separate from STRATUM Journal’s academic submission process and does not guarantee publication in STRATUM Journal.

04 Project Representation

For selected artists and projects, ELSEHERE may provide project-based representation connected to real artistic work, public programs, publications, festivals, residencies, or institutional opportunities.

Representation may include professional communication, project materials, presentation support, letters, documentation, editorial framing, or coordination with institutions and collaborators.

Artists remain independent. Representation is based on a defined scope, written agreement, and clear professional purpose.

05 International Artist Support

For artists working across borders, ELSEHERE may support the development of professional documentation, project records, artist profiles, publication materials, representation letters, and institutional support materials where appropriate.

ELSEHERE is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice, immigration strategy, petition preparation, petition filing, or guaranteed outcomes. Artists seeking visa or immigration-related support should consult a licensed immigration attorney. Where appropriate, ELSEHERE may provide professional and project-related documentation connected to the artist’s real practice.

How We Work

01 Initial Consultation

We begin with a focused conversation about the artist’s practice, current materials, professional goals, and immediate needs.

02 Assessment & Roadmap

When appropriate, we provide a structured assessment of the artist’s current materials and recommend a development path.

03 Agreement & Scope

Formal work begins only after a written agreement is in place. Each agreement defines the scope, timeline, deliverables, payment terms, communication process, and responsibilities of both parties.

04 Development Phase

We work with the artist to develop the agreed materials or support structure. This may include editorial development, portfolio organization, professional documentation, publication materials, representation support, or project-based coordination.

05 Review & Delivery

Final materials are delivered according to the agreed scope. When relevant, we may also provide recommendations for future development, applications, publication, visibility, or documentation.
