ELSEHERE introduces the artists, curators, and cultural practitioners who will review submissions for the 2026 Experimental Arts Festival.
The selection process for Entangled Garden is now underway.
This year’s submissions will be reviewed by a jury working across performance, moving image, installation, sound, interdisciplinary practice, and research-based art. Each juror brings a distinct field of experience, but the panel shares a commitment to practices that resist easy classification and require close, contextual attention.
THE 2026 JURY
HOW THE WORK WILL BE CONSIDERED
Submissions are reviewed in relation to the festival’s curatorial framework, the conditions of Le Petit Versailles, and the integrity of each proposed work.
The jury will consider:
The clarity and artistic necessity of the work
The relationship between form, material, and inquiry
The project’s engagement with the festival’s curatorial context
Its responsiveness to the garden as a living, shared, and spatially specific site
The feasibility of presenting the work within the festival’s technical and temporal conditions
The contribution the work may make to the program as a whole
The process is not designed to reward familiarity, scale, or conventional polish. It is designed to identify work with a precise artistic position—and to consider what becomes possible when that work enters the garden alongside other practices, bodies, materials, and publics.
FROM SUBMISSION TO PROGRAM
Each eligible submission will receive an initial review. Shortlisted proposals may receive further consideration in relation to site, duration, technical requirements, audience movement, and the overall composition of the four-day program.
Because Entangled Garden is developed as an interdependent program rather than a collection of isolated presentations, selection also involves attention to rhythm, proximity, contrast, and the relationships that may emerge between works.
All applicants will be notified according to the published selection timeline. Selected artists will receive further information regarding production, scheduling, documentation, and participation.
We extend our thanks to every artist who has entrusted us with their work—and to the jury for bringing time, rigor, and care to the process.
SELECTION RESULTS WILL BE ANNOUNCED ON October 1.
