Bijou Douglas

Bijou Douglas is a Black and Japanese dance artist, creator, and performer from Los Angeles, California, currently pursuing her B.F.A in Dance and B.A in Sociology at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Bijou’s research revolves around lived experiences and kinetic awareness; using the body as a vessel for embodied knowledge, history, and identity expression. Her work seeks to explore multidisciplinary approaches as a form of research, to enhance and further develop her creative practice and voice. She is currently a second-year apprentice for Santa Barbara Dance Theater and a member of the UCSB Dance Company, which will tour Europe in Spring 2026.
