Kyrie Yao
Co-Founder

Kyrie Yao is a digital media artist and co-founder of ELSEHERE.
Working across 3D modeling, interactive environments, and digital storytelling, her practice moves between virtual space, cultural narratives, and speculative forms of image-making. She approaches creation as a way of examining how technology, memory, and emotion intertwine, shaping the ways we perceive and inhabit digital worlds.
Her work often begins with meticulous 3D construction—treating modeling not just as a technical skill but as a method of thinking, building worlds where structure, atmosphere, and narrative fold into one another. Through this process, she explores how virtual environments can carry affect, reveal tension, and open alternative modes of experience.
Yao is currently studying Digital Media Arts at Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University. She is a recipient of the 2023 Second-Class Entrance Scholarship and the 2024/25 Excellence Scholarship, and was selected as a finalist for the 2025 Shanghai International Light Festival in architectural projection.
