The artwork contrasts two primary perceptions of the bird: Nostalgia and Rejuvenation: For those living away from the coast, the cry of a seagull is a symbol of holidays, adventure, and the seaside. Anarchy and Unpredictability: To others, the gull represents "chip-stealing anarchy" and unpredictable behaviour in avian form.
